Hinsdale Central fends off York thanks to big play from Nyme Hussain

Defensive back Nyme Hussain is apparently a quick study, because in only his second week as a starter, he came up with a game-changing play when Hinsdale Central faced York on Friday night.

Hussain, a junior from Hinsdale, has seen his playing time increase as he fills in for senior Drew Novatney, who is dealing with an injury.

With the score tied in the fourth quarter, Hussain intercepted a York pass attempt near midfield, which put the Red Devils in good position to mount a game-winning drive.

Hinsdale Central responded. Junior quarterback Michael Brescia supplied a touchdown run to help the Red Devils claim a 28-21 West Suburban Silver victory in Elmhurst and remain undefeated.

Hussain only had a few days to prepare for his first start, a 35-26 win against Downers Grove North on Sept. 28. A full week of preparation really made a difference against York ... READ FULL STORY
