Hinsdale Central win over Glenbard West a long time coming

Like so many classes before them, Hinsdale Central's senior football players badly wanted a victory over Glenbard West.

By the slimmest of margins on Saturday, they finally got it done.

The Red Devils beat Glenbard West 31-30 in overtime when the visiting Hilltoppers' game-winning 2-point conversion pass attempt failed.

With its first win over Glenbard West (4-2, 2-2) since 2006, Hinsdale Central (6-0, 4-0) stays on course for its first West Suburban Silver title since 2004.

"We've been working for this one for all our years here," said Columbia-bound Red Devils quarterback Josh Bean. "For four years we've dreamed about this win. It was big."
