Football sustains perfect record in victory over Glenbard West

On Saturday, Oct. 1, the Red Devil football team defeated conference rival Glenbard West for the first time since 2006. Central is now tied for the West Suburban Conference title with an undefeated record of 6-0 matched by Lyons Township and OPRF.

The matchup was highly anticipated by fans and players because of the two team’s history. The game was also Central’s Homecoming, meaning many alumni were in attendance to witness the victory.

“This game was a test for us to show that we can play with anyone. Going into this week, we knew we had to have the best practice of the year,” said kicker Quentin Wallace, junior.

The game started promising, with Central’s Luke Skokna, sophomore, scoring the first touchdown early in the first quarter. However, by halftime Glenbard was winning 21-14.
