Franko blocked punt, fumble recovery key plays in 27-7 Red Devils' win

DARIEN – Nick Franko didn’t begin playing football until he was in eighth grade.
Four years later, it’s obvious it didn’t take long for him to get up to speed.
The Hinsdale Central senior linebacker is a third-year starter and co-captain on a team with great expectations.
Franko also plays on special teams and has seen some action at fullback, bringing a versatility that is surpassed only by his unselfish attitude.
“I’ll do whatever is best for the team because at the end of the day, we’ve got to win games,” Franko said. “I’ll do whatever Coach (Brian) Griffin tells me to do. That’s always been my mentality.”
