Hinsdale Central rolls with 2nd-quarter burst over York

No. 7 Hinsdale Central 41, York 20: York held Hinsdale Central scoreless in the first quarter, but the Red Devils ran loose in the second, putting up 34 points before the half. Four players contributed to five Hinsdale Central touchdowns on the ground, and senior quarterback John Whitelaw added 127 yards through the air.

Records: Hinsdale Central 6-2, 4-1 West Suburban Silver; York 3-5, 2-4.

Top performers: Hinsdale Central – Whitelaw, 7-for-12, 127 yards, TD; 17 carries, 178 yards, 2 TDs; RB David Lutz, 6 carries, 123 yards, TD; WR/S Kolby Ourada, 1 catch, 30 yards, TD, INT; York – RB Mike DeBernardis, 26 carries, 131 yards.

Extra point: York has been eliminated from the playoffs for the first time in six years.
