HINSDALE – Matt Rafferty was behind the eight ball even more than his Hinsdale Central football teammates this season.
New head coach Dan Hartman came in and installed a new up-tempo spread offense, a change from the more traditional offense the Red Devils ran in the recent past.
The quarterback is the centerpiece of the offense, which is why Rafferty had a lot of catching up to do. Not only was the senior quarterback immersed in a new system, but he also was taking the field for the first time in two years after skipping the football season as a junior. With the changes in the program, he decided this season was the perfect time to rekindle his football career.
