Michael Sessa excelling in Hinsdale Central's surging offense

HINSDALE – After throwing just three passes in a backup role in 2014, Hinsdale Central senior quarterback Michael Sessa is grabbing opportunity by the horns.

Sessa’s latest success in a 43-0 win against Downers Grove North may have been his biggest yet. Completing his first 12 passes, he finished 21 of 24 for 268 yards and three touchdowns in just one half of play Sept. 11.

“He’s been on fire,” Red Devils coach Dan Hartman said. “He’s making great decisions. He’s a great example of a junior that didn’t get to play a whole lot but worked really hard in the offseason, and it’s really paid off for him.

“He’s got a great arm and he’s really matured a lot over the last year. He does a great job running the offense – he knows exactly what to do on every play.”
